TRAIN ON YOUR OWN TIME.

WHAT IS OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING?

Weightlifting is a technical, strength/power sport which requires excellent coordination, flexibility, balance, speed and of course strength.

Weightlifting, also called Olympic-style weightlifting or Olympic weightlifting, is the only barbell sport in the Olympic program. The two competition lifts are the snatch and the clean and jerk.

THE SNATCH

A foundation in training in olympic weightlifting is the Snatch.  In a single motion - you’ll learn to move a barbell from the ground over your head.

The first of the two lifts contested in Olympic Weightlifting, the snatch is a technical lift that requires and builds various athletic qualities such as:

  • Speed

  • Balance

  • Coordination

  • Explosiveness

THE CLEAN & JERK

The second foundation of weightlifting training is the clean and jerk. In two separate motions, you'll learn to bring a barbell from the ground, to your chest and over your head!

The clean and jerk is a lift that requires and builds various athletic qualities such as:

  • Strength

  • Explosiveness

  • Coordination

  • Toughness
